Connection Assistance
Last month in Technical Support, our most called about topic was connection, specifically how to connect. One very helpful tool is the Connection Assistance feature. Both ReSound Aventa and ReSound Smart Fit are equipped with this guide and it is an extremely effective method of explaining the correct procedure for connecting a device. The animations clearly demonstrate how to connect each style of hearing aid using your preferred programming interface.
ReSound Aventa
Upon launching Aventa, the Connection Assistance guide is available from the Start screen as depicted below.
ReSound Smart Fit
Similar to Aventa, the Connection Assistance guide is accessible from the Smart Launcher.
Connection in 3 easy steps
Step 1. Select the programming interface you are using.
The Hi Pro, NOAHlink and Speedlink are all wired interfaces that utilise the CS44 cables. The Noahlink Wireless (formerly Airlink 2) can be used to program all wireless hearing aids. If you’re unsure as to whether or not the device you are trying to connect is wireless, check that the model code contains a “W”. Examples – LT961-DRW, EN998-DW, EY477-DW, AL961-DRW etc.
Step 2. Select the type of device you are connecting.
The drop down box will reveal 7 types of devices. Examples of these devices have been provided below. Once a selection has been made, the animation will begin and you may proceed to Step 3.
Please note that for Australia and New Zealand, the CS53 Flex Strip is used in place of the CS63.
Step 3. Follow the connection instructions provided by the animation clip.
Before attaching an adaptor or inserting a flex strip, it is important to inspect the contacts for damage or foreign material as this can impede the connection.
The following are examples of devices and their appropriate adaptor/flex strip.
